A full tank weighs twice what an empty one does: two hundred litres is two hundred kilograms on four feet, with the wind on top of it. The frame is welded for your tank, your roof and your angle.
Two hundred litres of water is around two hundred kilograms carried on four feet. On a flat roof they cannot go just anywhere: the load has to land on the slab or a beam, not on screed over a void.
The face of the collector works like a sail. Winter gusts on the coast reach storm strength, and a frame without bracing starts to walk, chewing out its anchor holes. Two diagonal ties cost little and end the question.
The frame sits under water that occasionally drips and under sun all year. Paint on a roof lasts three or four seasons; after that the rust works underneath the tank, where nobody sees it until the tank shifts.
