An outdoor shower
by the pool
and at the beach house.

A post from two metres to two eighty, a shower head, and if you want it a tray, a hot-water mixer and a foot tap for rinsing sand off without undressing.

Worth deciding before you order

/ 01

Next to salt water you choose metal differently

Pool chlorine and sea salt eat ordinary paint within a season or two. Hot-dip galvanising lasts several years, aluminium does not rust at all, and AISI 316 stainless costs the most and outlives the house. The closer to the water, the shorter the list.

/ 02

Not everyone needs a tray

If the shower stands on tiles falling towards a drain, a tray is only in the way. It matters on soil, on gravel, and anywhere the water runs back under the foundation. A timber deck is kinder to feet, plate is easier to hose down.

/ 03

Hot water and winter

A mixer makes sense when there is already a feed from the boiler nearby — running a pipe across the yard costs more than the post itself. In winter the outdoor leg has to be drained: I fit a drain cock at the low point if you ask.

Build it to your size

Pick the material, the tray and the extras — the price follows. The configuration stays in the page address: save the link or send it to me.

Typical configurations and prices

Why the price here is approximate

What the page works out is an estimate, not a quote. The final figure is always worked out separately, because the same structure in two different places does not cost the same.

  • How easy the spot is to reach, and whether the van and the gear fit.
  • What it stands on and bolts to: wall, concrete, roof, soil — the condition of the base changes the job.
  • Where reinforcement is needed and where it can be done more simply — and come out cheaper.
  • How fast you need it, and how much preparing the site takes.

This is not factory production, where everything comes out identical, soulless and at the lowest price. Each piece is made for your particular spot. Write to me — we will go through where reinforcement is worth it and where it is not, and I will find an option that suits you.

Frequently asked

What does an outdoor shower cost?
A galvanised 2.3 m post with no tray is around €500. With a timber deck, around €650. Stainless with a mixer, around €900. It does not go lower than that: the post, the base, the arm and the head are the same at any height, so €500 is the floor.
Do you connect the water?
I fit the post and run the pipe to the connection point. Tapping into the existing supply is a plumber job — if you do not have one, I will point you to someone in your area. The foot tap and the mixer I fit myself.
Will the post stay put?
The base is anchored into concrete or tile: four points, a 300 × 300 mm foot. On soil I cast a concrete pad first. You cannot push a post like this over by hand, and you can lean on it.
