Pool fencing
in Cyprus —
safety that keeps the view.

A barrier around the pool, from 1.1 m high, with a gate that closes itself. Materials that survive chlorine and salt: hot-dip galvanised steel, aluminium, AISI 316 stainless or framed glass. I weld on site, so the fence follows the shape of your pool.

Pool fences I make

A pool fence does two jobs at once: it keeps children and animals away from the water, and it must not ruin the look of the yard. Which of the two matters more decides how it is built.

/ 01

Vertical bars

The classic safety solution: vertical bars spaced under 10 cm, box-section frame, galvanising and powder coating in any RAL. Nothing to climb, because there are no horizontal footholds.

/ 02

Framed glass

8+8 laminated glass in aluminium or stainless profile. The whole pool stays visible from the terrace — children in sight, barrier in place. The most expensive option, and the least intrusive.

/ 03

Mesh in a frame

Welded mesh inside a box-section frame. The most economical build that still meets safety spacing. A common choice for rental houses and holiday properties.

/ 04

Self-closing gate

Spring hinges and a high latch, out of a child's reach. It closes and locks on its own. This is the part that fails most often on any pool fence — which is why I do not improvise it.

/ 05

Privacy panels

Solid or pattern-cut panels on the side facing the street or the neighbour — like the screen in the photo above. It blocks the view and the wind that cools the water.

/ 06

Hotel and complex pools

For hotels and apartment complexes: longer runs, several gates, AISI 316 where the pool sits close to the sea. I work out of season or early morning so your guests are not disturbed.

What survives beside the water

The air above a chlorinated pool is more aggressive than sea air: chlorine evaporates and settles on the metal. That is why a pool fence is not built from the same stock as a property fence.

🛡

Hot-dip galvanised

Zinc on the steel and powder coating on top. The default choice: 15–20 years, even once the coating gets scratched.

Aluminium

Does not rust at all and is light — good for long spans and for roof terraces where weight matters. Welded with TIG and argon.

AISI 316 stainless

Contains 2–3% molybdenum. The only material that handles chlorine and sea salt together — for pools in the first row from the water.

8+8 laminated glass

Safety glass in a profile. If it breaks it stays bonded to the interlayer instead of falling into the water in pieces.

Why ordinary painted steel does not work at a pool

Paint protects only while it is intact. Beside a pool the first scratch comes quickly — from a cleaning tool, a sun lounger, the gate itself. At that point chlorinated air reaches bare steel, and rust works outward from inside, usually starting at the welds. Galvanising behaves differently: the zinc keeps protecting the steel even where the coating is gone.

12 м × 1.2 м · vert · inox €2 950

Why the price here is approximate

What the page works out is an estimate, not a quote. The final figure is always worked out separately, because the same structure in two different places does not cost the same.

  • How easy the spot is to reach, and whether the van and the gear fit.
  • What it stands on and bolts to: wall, concrete, roof, soil — the condition of the base changes the job.
  • Where reinforcement is needed and where it can be done more simply — and come out cheaper.
  • How fast you need it, and how much preparing the site takes.

This is not factory production, where everything comes out identical, soulless and at the lowest price. Each piece is made for your particular spot. Write to me — we will go through where reinforcement is worth it and where it is not, and I will find an option that suits you.

Frequently asked questions

How much does pool fencing cost in Cyprus?
Galvanised steel starts at €175 per running metre installed, aluminium at €190/m, AISI 316 stainless at €245/m, and framed glass at €415/m. Minimum order is €750. Send the pool dimensions to WhatsApp and you get a price within the hour.
How high does a pool fence need to be?
The practical minimum is 1.1 m — below that a child simply climbs it. I keep the gap between vertical bars under 10 cm so a head cannot pass through, and the gap under the fence under 10 cm as well. If the pool is at a rental property, check what your insurer requires: the conditions differ between companies.
Which material survives next to chlorinated water?
The air above a chlorinated pool is more aggressive than sea air. Ordinary painted steel there starts rusting at the welds within two years. I work with hot-dip galvanised steel under powder coating, with aluminium, or with AISI 316 stainless — 316 contains molybdenum and is the only one that handles chlorine and salt together.
Do you make a self-closing gate?
Yes. Spring hinges and a latch mounted out of a child's reach — the gate closes and locks without anyone having to remember. It is the part that fails most often: the fence stands, but the gate is left open.
How long does installation take?
A survey on site, then 3–7 working days to fabricate and one day to install. I bring my own generator, so no power outlet is needed near the pool. Sections are welded on site, which is why the fence follows the real shape of your pool rather than a drawing.
